Privacy Policy for Bad Days
Effective Date: June 6, 2026
At Bad Days (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we prioritize your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Bad Days mobile application (the “App”). We designed the App to be a private space for your unvarnished thoughts, and our data practices reflect that commitment.
We offer two ways to use the App:
- Anonymous Usage: If you choose to continue anonymously, we create a guest account. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name or email address.
- Google Sign-In: If you choose to link your Google account (e.g., to back up your entries across devices), we receive basic profile information from Google, such as your email address and name, as authorized by you during the sign-in process.
B. User Content (Your Entries)
When you use the App, you may create text entries, record audio notes, and track your mood. This User Content is stored securely.
- Cloud Backup: If you are signed in (anonymously or via Google), your entries and audio recordings are synced to our secure cloud database (hosted by Google Firebase) to ensure you do not lose your data.
We may collect usage data and crash reports to help us improve the App. This data is anonymized and does not include the content of your diary entries.
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: To store and retrieve your diary entries, audio recordings, and mood tracking data across your devices.
- To Maintain and Improve: To monitor the performance of the App, identify bugs, and improve the user experience.
- Account Management: To manage your account and provide customer support.
We do not use your User Content for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not sell your personal information or User Content to third parties.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Infrastructure: Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which employs industry-standard encryption protocols (both in transit and at rest).
- Security Measures: While we implement robust security measures to protect your data, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but continuously work to protect your information.
4. Your Rights and Choices
- Account Deletion: You have the right to delete your account at any time. You can do this directly within the App by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. Selecting this option will permanently erase your account, all associated diary entries, audio recordings, and identity data from our active databases.
- Data Portability: If you are signed in with a Google account, your data is synced and accessible across any device where you log in.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party service providers to operate the App:
- Google Firebase: For backend database services, authentication, and cloud storage.
These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it immediately.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or via other communication channels. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
